I am going to apply for my F-5 soon. I was just curious does anyone know anyone who has been rejected and for what reasons? I have all the needed paperwork so I am not worried just curious.
Thanks |

Are you getting it through marriage or by being in korea over 5 years? The process is different both ways. |

I just got my F2-99 Visa last month (over 5 years on an E2 Visa).
Enquired with Immigration when I could apply for an F5. They told me I should be on an F2 for 3 years.
Funny thing is, is that if you are on an F2-1 (Married to a Korean), you only have to wait 2 years.
An F2 should be an F2. Immigration should not discriminate like this.
My 2 cents worth. |

...there seems to be interpretation allowances (cough cough) on that 2 year date.
The English translation said more than two years...does this mean 2 years plus a day...or finished 2 years...which then makes it three years.
As with all things immigration...it depends on the person behind the desk.
Best of luck with it. |
