My contract is ending in a few months. Here's what I would like to do. I want to use my end of contract airfare to go home for a few weeks - then come back and start a new job - without my visa being cancelled. Then come back and simply transfer my visa to my new employer? I really, really don't want to go through the whole E-2 visa process again. Can this be done?
If anyone has information about this I would appreciate it very much.
Cheers,

When your old job is finished, your ARC should expire with it (or your employer should cancel it). Is your new employer willing to sponsor you before you start actually working there? If you find a new job now, and you can transfer before your visa and ARC expire, then this could be feasible, as long as your NEW boss is willing to sponsor you on your one month home vacation.
Start getting your documents in order now. You will probably need a new FBI CBC. This takes the longest amount of time. Apply for it now. That way, in 3 to 4 months it will be ready. |
