When you renew, is it the case you need 6 months remaining on your passport at the time of renewal or 6 months from your next contract start date?
Also, has anyone renewed at the same school recently?
My degree notarization and RCMP background check are not here yet but I need to renew this week as my passport will have less than 6 months left on it (well in two weeks). Will that be a problem? I've been hearing that they are letting people have one free pass?
Thanks |

Technically your passport must remain valid as long as your visa. But 2 years ago I went in with my passport only having about 9 months left on it. The immigration office just told me to get a new passport before the next time I re-newed. On the other hand my colleague was only given a visa for the time remaining left on his passport and after he got his new one he had to go back to immigration. Either way, once you get a new passport you only have two weeks to register it. The registering can be done on-line at Hi!Korea. |
