I am going on my visa run next Tuesday. have a choice of going to Osaka or Fukoka for my visa run. The school will pay the plane ticket, but I have to cover the rest. Which is the better option?

Where is the Korean consulate in Osaka and Fukoka? How much is a really cheap hotel in each city?

Also, all I have to pring is my passport and E2 visa number that immigration has issued, right?

There are threads in the travel forum (sticky) that give full details about the visa runs to both places.

Either way you will need about 20,000 yen all in (visa costs, hotel, food, transportation, etc).

At the consulate you will need your passport, application, confirmation number, photo, fee and application.

.

A friend of mine who lives in Osaka agreed to let me stay at his house. So that will save on the hotel fees. The application is filled out in Osaka, right?

Also, how much are the visa fees?

Someone mentioned bringing enough Yen. I was wondering:

I have an international bank card (from KB Bank). If I go to a bank in Tenjin or somewhere like that, I should be able to withdraw money, right?

There's a Citibank near the Oyafuko area that 100% does international withdrawals. There's also a 7-11 about 10 minutes' walk from the ferry terminal that does them.

So if the KB card is truly international, it should be fine in one of those places.

Most Japanese banks don't accept international cards, 7-11, or the post office are your best bets.

Just check and triple check that you have an international card and make sure you have enough cash when you go.
