My recruiter just received all my E2 documents on Monday, and they informed me that it takes about 2 weeks to process this before scheduling an interview with the Korean consulate. Then the flight is usually booked a week before the departure date.
Well I am scheduled to begin on the 17th. Is this realistic? Do I have any chance of making my contract time, or will I find myself stuck waiting out the bureaucracy? Has anyone found the 2 week processing time to be an over estimate or is that pretty accurate? |

| I would say 2 weeks is pretty accurate give or take a few days. It will take 4-5 business days for immigration to process the documents and another 5 business days to have your interview and receive your visa from the consulate. |

Depending on the K-immi office and the consulate the typical spread is 12-21 days from application to Visa approval and getting your passport back.
Do NOT book your flight until you have your visa actually IN YOUR PASSPORT.

| Thanks guys. Hopefully everything gets done in time for me to start the job. Guess I will just have to wait until I can have my consulate interview, and hope it comes sooner rather than later. |

Be warned the consulate can take as long as they want to give you a visa.
They can also deny you even though immi in Korea has cleared you.
So don't be rushed into booking anything until that visa sticker is in your passport. |

I got my VISA confirmation number today. My documents made it to Korea last Monday, so it took a week and a half.
