Hi guys,
Just got a job offer with Avalon in Yongin teaching middle school. Wondered what Yongin's like? Would like to hear your thoughts - What's there to do in your free time, how big it is etc? Also any comments regarding the Avalon branch there could prove useful.
Thanks in advance! |

Yongin is a pretty big place with lots to see and do provided you get out of your house to do it. It has may favorite museum in the world and plenty of night life. It also has a Harley Davidson dealer, and me bing a biker, it provides some fairly good services. It's close to Suwon and Osan. So, depending in which part of the area you are in, will dictate what there is to see and do there. Is the intended post near a subway line? If so, thats half your battle with getting around. I'm in Songtan, near Osan Airbase, and don't know much about Avalon.. Check out the weblinks in the other post... |

Thanks for your replies! I'll be based in Gugal. Does anyone know how easy is it to get around Yongin (and also to Suwon/Bundang/Seoul)? Thanks again guys. |

Hi,
I was just placed in Yongin (Suji area) at an elementary school through GEPIK. The info on Yongin seems few and far between. I'm a little nervous since most of the reviews I've found on this site describe Yongin as dirty, smelly and boring. I'm interested in finding out where to shop, where to go to the gym and how to connect with other foreigners (I'm not much of a smoky bar person).
Any info on where to go, what to see, etc. Would be greatly appreciated!! |
