I was at work talking about going back to Korea, and getting my stuff in order.

A guy overheard my conversation.
he asked how do you get into that. i gave him the essential run down.
Then after everyone left i asked if he could pass a background check.

He said he has some pot convictions in the past.

So i guess my question is what and where can he work?
I dont know much about other countries immigration laws, but i feel its a safe bet that korea is out.
Any other countries recommended?

It will depend on where he is from (country of passport) and where he will be applying for his visa from (country of residence).

Taiwan is out.
Korea is out.
Vietnam is out.
Japan is a maybe (but the market is flooded with "teachers") (crc not a visa requirement but often an employer requirement.)

Thailand is a maybe (NO if he is applying for a visa from within North America, possible if he is applying for a visa in Cambodia, Laos or Malaysia).

China is a maybe (again, depends on where he is applying from). Consulates are supposed to ask for a CBC but they often don't.

Indonesia is a maybe (the requirement is on the books but enforcement is very lax).

Cambodia and Laos are ok but jobs are scarce and paperwork issues are common.
