I got my LG Mini Ice Cream X120 laptop over a year ago from LG Best Shop. It was 740,000 won and the cheapest computer in terms of price.

Try there, Hi Mart, Home Plus, Emart, and Samsung stores. You might find some deals, but I'm not so sure you'll find something for as low as 500,000 won.

Good luck!

I think ACER is the best brand of notebooks available on the market. It is a Taiwan brand and it is the fourth largest seller of notebooks worldwide. Though I have found that they are difficult to find here in Korea. They are available in Cebu though and in Bangkok.

I have a netbook, but it is a larger netbook and it is fantastic. It is a ACER Aspire One 751 12" notebook. It has a Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB hard drive and it comes with an HDMI outlet to transfer video and sound to any TV or monitor. And it was only $300 in Canada. It is by far the best computer I have ever owned. Check it out.

HPs have a horrible track record in reliability. See:

Go for Asus, they practically invented the netbook market. I got my Eee PC for around 450000KRW + 50000 for a 1GB upgrade, and it came with legal English Windows 7. I got mine in the big white building complex next to Pirate's Market in Yongsan.
