If you just have a bank account in your home country (no property or possessions), then do you have to pay taxes in your home country for income earned in Korea? |
If you are American then no, you don't have to pay taxes on your korean income but you need to file.
If you are Canadian then you may need to file depending on the determination by CRA whether you are deemed resident or not. (It takes more significant ties than a simple bank account to be determined as "resident for tax purposes".)
Not sure about the other countries but USUALLY people who are NOT considered resident do not pay taxes in their home country if they are taxed in their country of (LEGAL) residence. |
