From my experience, private schools vary highly. Some of them are basically no different from a public school job; some are alot different. The last one I worked had us work 25 classes a week with 6-12 students (no co-teacher) and ha about the same pay/benefits of a public school. I've also seen some public schools where teachers get much higher pay and get about 8-10 weeks vacation with about 20 classes of work. Some private schools tend to be religious (Sahmyook is a pretty big chain of private schools) which can make things... awkward to say the least.

It a toss up as was said you may get a Harwkeon that is 3pm to 9pm in hours M-F teach right from a book with advanced students and no prep time...

but they do not have stupid days off like school birthdays or test days - these are often given off to you at public scchools- in general they want you there to amke monry to teach kids so you get maybe 2 weeks off the whole year... on the other hand you get lucky with a public/private school and they tell you not to come into fianls/midterms and other odd days ... also you get all January and Febuary off except for two weeks where you get paid an extra 1 grand to teach a silly camp... then again there are schools that stick you in the eye with your contract and make you do vacation hawkone style classes during the semester breaks with Zero extra pay and unhappy students who are only there becasue mama wants them to learn english for free on their vacation and not play soccer all break like their friends.... so in that case you only get about 3 weeks winter and 1 week summer and have to sit about and do nothing from 830-430 even if it is a finals day ... fine if you are facebook freak or want to watch a million youtbes of Chomsky or Cricket greats...

so like a lot of persons say it all depends... but baseline I would say public schools are often better cuz you can get hit up with split shifts and saturdays in a Hawkone without notice....

but yeah if you do not like to work get a uni job for 2 million and get 4-5 months off a year.... that is the true supa slug job
