I teach at a small school, I have 8 hours of teaching during normal school hours. I teach grade 3, 4, 5, and 6. Each grade has 1 class. That means 8 different lessons a week during school hours. Then I teach 11 hours after school without a coteacher. After school I have grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 are in classes together. My school wants me to teach from a different textbook for after school classes, and for each class. This means I will have roughly 19 different lessons each week, as I'll never use the same lesson twice. This is at a public elementary. How bad is this?

Secondly, does anyone know where in Daegu I can go to find new English textbooks for grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6? I've been in Daegu for 8 days and I'm supposed to find new textbooks.

Yes, grades 1 and 2 of elementary by myself.

Try the bookstore called "English House". It's near to Manchon subway station. Just ask anyone.

Alternatively try Gyobo Bookstore downtown on the second floor Smile

check with the big esl publishers like oxford, cambridge etc, they have websites for korea and reps that will help you make selections. if its a big enough adoption they will even send a person to train the staff on the books

English House and Kyobo Bookstore are your best bet. Those are the only 2 bookstores I bother to deal with.
