| What I wish I could find is Sweet and Sour Pork, Pineapple Chicken Balls, Egg Rolls, Chop Suey, and Chicken Fried Rice. That would be heaven on earth or in Korea. lol |

I went to fat panda the other day... it was okay. The Chow Mein was okay but greasier than it should be. I had the Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. Orange Chicken is what it is... and Kung Pao Chicken is missing something but I can't tell.
Overall, the pricing is good. If you REALLY miss North American style Chinese takeout food then this is a better deal than Ho Lee Chow. Maybe thats why its near Noksapyeong/Itaewon... it will definitely cater to Westerners.
Next time, I'll definitely get the fried rice amongst other things.

| You'd be hard pressed to find authentic Chinese food in Korea, and well, as many have found out, the Chinese food they serve IN China is a far cry from Americanized Chinese food. |

You are quite right and I've given up on finding a decent restaurant... 2.5 years and i finally found an oriental market for some of my needs.
I'll be making some dim sum (Beef Balls, Shu Mai) and other cantonese food. |

This thread was a good read. I'm hoping to visit Din Tai Fung pretty soon as it seems they have decent prices. Anyone else know where I can find Xiao Long Bao, steamed shrimp dumplings, etc South of the Han?
I believe the reason I've been disappointed with Korean food is the time I spent in China. |

| I usually go to Homeplus to eat chinese food. But there is a new place in Songtan that is called "American Style Chinese Food". I havent tried it yet, but seems worth a visit. Its across from the taxi stand and behind the building. Anyone try it yet? |

I'm wondering about Korean's palette and if they will ever love Cantonese food. Because they like to complain about how greasy the food is outside of Korea. I don't know if they will ever embrace that type of food especially American Style Chinese food because that is worst than authentic Cantonese food.
I notice that Koreans will eat spicy Korean food but when it comes to foreign food, it has to be on the sweeter side.
Chinese - Jajangmeyong (bleh), sweet sour pork
Pizza - Sweet potato pizza, Mr. Pizza, Pizza Hut
Mayonnaise and pickles are a bit sweet
Most Koreans really dislike cilantro because its too overpowering but then again cilantro is a love and hate relationship with most people. |

Anyone been to the small Chinese restaurant area near Konkuk University?There are about 6-10 places and I think most of the restaurants in that area are known for the chinese style meat sticks but I ordered a bunch of other vegetable dishes and the taste was comparable to what I've eaten in mainland China. The fried eggplant dishes were amazing!
Konkuk University station, about 2 blocks to the right of the the CGV movie theatre building...sorry my directions are so poor. |

Yeah that was one of the places mentioned in the OP, I think 매화반점 is the place I went to a lot. I live in Beijing and a lot of this stuff near Konkuk is similar to what I've had here.
e: Nope not in OP, but it's good. That whole area near Konkuk has some good stuff, and they have Harbin Beer. |
