Quick question!
I am thinking about ending my contract early (mid-may, actual end date is aug31), if I do though, will I have to leave the country immediately after my last day at school? My E-2 visa will be dead by then, but can't I still stay through that 3 month tourist period?
Thanks. |

When you resign your job, you notify immi of the change in your status within 14 days or leave the country within the same 14 days.
If you do report to Kimmi then you will be given 30 days from your last day of employment to exit the country or find a new job and transfer.
Alternatively, if you want to stay longer or if you want to quit without giving notice, you can take the ferry to Japan (or leave the country by any method of your choosing) and return immediately under a tourist visa as long as you turn in your ARC as you are leaving and inform immi that you are not returning to work in korea. |
