I plan to take a little tour of Seoul's cool cafes ... the dog cafe, the hello kitty cafe, etc. Can you help me compile a list of all the ones worth visiting? |

In Hongdae there is the Charlie Brown Cafe, Hello Kitty Cafe, Puzzle Cafe, Gio Cat Cafe, Bauhaus (dog cafe), and Funny Funny (board game cafe). I also walked past a Wii cafe today. Never been there, but sounds interesting
There are also several Dr. Fish cafes. I know there is one right off of the Sinnonhyeon stop on line 9 near Gangnam. There is a dog cafe in Myeongdong too. |

I always thought that the words 'cool' and 'cafe' shouldn't be used in the same sentence. I'd take a dive hole in the wall that made an honest cup of coffee.
But, hey, if you're into a tour, Hongdae is the hood for you. No need to research in advance, either. The place is packed with it all. |

They've got a bed cafe somewhere in hongdae. You can just pick out a book and crawl into a bunk bed. |

There have been so many videos and blog entries on these places that newbies all want to see them as part of their first month in Korea. You should know, after all, you're part of that industry. But after a while they'll find a quiet place that feels more like where they belong on a rainy Saturday when the week was all stress and you just need to have some peace and quiet for an hour or two. I know a place near the stream, well, if I tell you about it then you'll make a video and the place will be overrun by tourists. I'll just keep that one to myself. |

I've been here for almost three years and I still want to see them, and I know other people who have been here for a long time that are also looking for cool coffee shops. They're not just for newbies. |

My favorite place for actual coffee is CoffeeLab or the smaller location, CoffeeLab Express. Both in Hongdae.
For quiet atmosphere and good internet in Hongdae, Cafe Zam on 'Coffee Street'. One of the dozens there, I just like this one.
There is another one at the very end of the same street, a green building, can't remember the name. There is a sleepy cat and a disheveled long haired Korean dude running the place. They show classic movies on a projector outside and make a great cappuccino. Very groovy place.
There are three or four Wii cafes in Hongdae too - very fun. Found one last week that serves free unlimited popcorn and soda. |
