Don't get me wrong. I don't have any problems with Koreans posting on here at all. Just give it up on the "I'm American/Russian/whateverothernationalityyouaregoingbytoday" thing.

Like what NY_Girl?

Acting like an idiot or making blank accusations that 'someone" is someone else?

mmm....say because I would LOVE to know!! Oh, but wait-now us 'Koreans", so must be "hushed" up by all the Native Speaking Teachers' on Daves' ESL cafe, right?

What I really want is a REAL confrontation..but SOMEONE is too chicken to show thier face ( probably because they can't argue worth a damn)

This post exemplifies, in so many ways, why you are not a native English speaker. I have no problem with you posting on here. I just would prefer it if you would cut out the nonsense about you being American/Russian/whateverothernationalityyouaregoingbytoday.

1) You don't know me, nor which country my passport is from

2) You being an ESL Teacher should know that are many many other ways ( besides writing) to test someones' language fluency. So never hearing me speak, how would you even know? You don't

3). I really don't care what you ( or anyone thinks'),small-minded opnions mean very little to me in life.

4) You cut the nonsence Matthew. It's not always a personal attack against you, nor an "in-out-fad" that is just passing by.

5) Stop confronting/spying on me here; if you wanna know how someone feels' about something, then act normal and talk to that person..

1. No, you're right, but I'd wager all the money I have that you are not a native speaker.

2. Indeed, but your writing doesn't look natural.

3. I'm not even sure what that is meant to say.

4. Who the hell is Matthew?

Yeah, I've been called a gyopo/Korean too.

What I want to know is: why is it so hard to imagine that non-Koreans would want to say positive things about Korea, or have a perspective other than 'Korea is the worst place in the world, everyone who lives there is racist and rude, etc. etc.'?

I think the best thing to do about cyui is to ignore all posts made by him/her/it. If he/she/it isn't a troll/sock/shill, then he/she/it must have some sort of mental disability.

My parents pay for airfare? lol no. I think most ESL teachers in Korea would be in the group whose parents don't pay for things. (The desperate for funds group.)

My parents never paid and I'd never let them.

As for the cert43/eb/cyui nonsense, we all know it's the same poster. Get a helmet.

Yes, there are more ways than one to evaluate one's language ability. Still, my elementary-school-aged little brother has better writing skills than your slop. You've been called out on several occasions. Either brush up on your typing skills, or deal with the mockery.

I'd wager he/she isn't a native speaker too.

And, no, my folks have never paid for my airfare.

I only go home about twice a decade. Embarassed

On topic: Nope, we pay.

This thread has gone way off topic: I had no idea that cyui is/could be/was considered to possibly be cert43...just realized I haven't seen cert43 posts in a while though-wasn't there someone cert43 was arguing with (Seoulio or something like that)? But then again, there is so much I don't pay attention to on here. lol. Some people on here certainly don't come across as native speakers. But then again, I have met at least one person in Seoul who was hired as a native speaker (must have had the right passport and education) who definitely wasn't. Good English, but lots of mistakes and a slight accent.
