With an offer from a public school, is it possible to do a visa run to japan from Korea instead of going back to your home country?
An interview is not necessary if you have a public school offer but the Korean council of education verifying degrees no longer works. I have an apostilled degree from my home country. Do I still need to go back? |

IF you get a NOA then you may not have to return home.
IF you get a visa confirmation number then you possibly may have to return home
IF you are American you have Guam as an option.
If you are legally resident in a 3rd country you do not have to go home.
If your apostilled degree is the original you will need to get a copy with an apostille or lose your original (pick one). Kimmi will keep what they get from you.

Thanks for replying. I'm Irish and have a degree copy apostilled and criminal check apostilled.
I've been getting mixed answers and the Korean embassy in Ireland didn't sound like they were very sure.
The note of appointment can be gotten and they said at the embassy I didn't need an interview but still needed to physically hand in documents myself.
I'm not sure why this has to be in the home country if I have apostilled degree and noa |

Since when?
The rule used to be, that either you send an apostilled copy OR you send the original (not apostilled), and you'd get the original copy back later from Kimmigration. |

Jan. 1, 2011.
In addition, all applicants for a new visa (even if you have previously held an E2) AFTER Jan. 1, 2011 need to submit a "national/federal" CRC (FBI not state for Americans and RCMP for Canadians).
Other changes did away with re-entry permits for registered foreigners. NOW, all registered foreigners can leave and return without permit for as long as their ARC remains valid (or 2 years in the case of an F5).
