| What if you suffer from Anxiety and have been prescribed a very low dose of Xanax from your doctor at home. Is that something that will reflect poorly or cause you to get your Visa denied? |
Xanax will show on your drug screen (they do test for bennies) at your mandatory medical exam and will get you bounced from Korea AND potentially labeled persona non grata.
Additionally, if you admit to the problem and treatment during the job application process you won't even get hired, never mind make it as far as the visa process.

So taking a legally prescribed medication from a licensed doctor for a legitimate disorder is grounds for dismissal? Wow Korea sounds like such a great country. |
Many people on this forum stated they had a prescription for Xanax and where fine on the drug test.
None said it was for anxiety. Say its for "sleep" ( which is actually what I use it for, I've only taken it at night and have no idea of its effects other than going to sleep). I think you will be fine. I personally have stopped taking Xanax until I pass the medical because I don't want to chance it.
Xanax is fast acting and will be completely cleared in 5 days. 7 days if your paranoid.
Once you get here you can get a Rx for Xanax as easy as buying water. Actually from what I've read its given here much more than the States. |

Many medicines that are legally prescribed in other countries are not legal at all in Korea. One I have heard discussed is Adderall. |

| Thanks for the reply -- im currently living in Toronto - I heard air quality in Korea is poor - didn't think Cheonan was that bad considering its a smaller city - but hopefully it doesn't act up |
I live on the east coast and the air quality is quite nice out here. Can't say much for Seoul...... But compared to air in cities like Beijing, Manila and Delhi the air in Seoul is very fresh. The air in those cities is terrible. I visited all of them in the last 12 months. |
