Most international schools prefer hiring couples.
I dont think you need to start now to get a November position. Im not sure many November positions exist. Most schools have already done their hiring for the 2011-2012 school year. I think that you two could go to a job fair in early 2012, and get hired for the 2012-2013 school year. But its never too early to start gathering/scanning documents, writing personal statements, etc.
I would suggest that you try to get hired at an international school. The more real experience you have, the better positions/locations will be available to you in the future.
Smurfetta gave you a good list of sites to research. You should also look at http://www.uni.edu/placement/overseas/. Its a good place to get your first international school job. A lot of Central and South American schools attend this fair if that interests you. |

From my research, international schools look to be similar in terms of responsibilities and workload. As for pay, it varies from country to country. The tieonline site is nice because a lot of international schools post their salary range and benefits in their ads. The site costs $29 to join and I think it is totally worth it. Search Associates has even better profiles of schools but costs $200 (I think) to join. Well worth it if you plan on attending a fair.
Jrock's advice is spot on. Plan ahead and I'm sure you will be successful in your job search.
One more thing... Just as an aside, I noticed that Busan Foreign School is looking for a Maths teacher for the next school year. Just thought I'd let you know just in case your plans change.

Sorry mate for the delayed response. I'd agree with Ttompatz that international schools are more suitable with both of you having QTS. Pay should be more than back home due to less taxes and not paying into your teacher's pension plan.
However, expectations will be much higher and I'm sure if youhave both trained to be teachers then you won't have a problem with those expectations.
Jeju is opening up its English city in September of this year. The first British international school will open its doors. Here's the link for the school http://www.nlcsjeju.co.kr/. They did however close their application deadline at the end of last year. I don't know if they're still looking for teachers. Their telephone number for employment is +44 (0) 208 951 6426. You never know!!
There is also a Korean owned international school opening at the same time, this will follow the American school curriculum. Also for this school you need to have QTS, they were accepting applicants from other countries, you don't have to be an American. If you call Jeju Development Centre (JDC), they should be able to give you the necessary details. You will be able to speak to someone who speaks English.
Good luck |

| I've just took a look at NLCS' website. They're looking for key stage 2 teachers, however nothing for maths. Give them a call, things change. Their deadline is the 18th of March. |

| You could also look at the Hong Kong NET program. There might be some positions starting in Jan. Singapore has a program as well....and I was looking at jobs in Bermuda recently. |
