| Craftworks is coming out with an IPA next month. My nipples get hard thinking about it. |
The IPA is awesome. I got to try it when the brewer dropped a sample off. Can't wait for a full pint.. |
Great to hear! Does anyone know when exactly it comes out? |

| Ya, it's still open to the public. C'mon on in...have a few pints and chat beer with all the home brewers that will be there, as well as the guys involved in brewing their upcoming IPA. |

| I used to make beer in Korea. I stopped when my daughter was born. I used to buy from http://www.goodbeer.co.kr I just looked at their site and they only have 7 types of malt kits available??? They used to have a lot more. Also, the best beer was from the Premium Gold range from Munton's. I see they have zero of this now to. Do you guys still buy from here or is there a better place? |

| Platinum use to run an all you could drink special with five of their micro-beers. They weren't all awesome but three were very solid. Also it was like 15,500 I think and it was for four hours give or take. Also they had a bunch of food half off during that time frame. I think it ran from like 5-9. I first read about it in one of those English newspapers that you can pick up in Itaewon for free. It has been a few years but it was an awesome place. |
they still have that going on i think. i went a few months ago when the deal was definately 5-8.30 for 16,000.
was there last week and the waiters didn't really know what was going on when we asked for the deal - i think we paid only 16,000 for the beer buffet, though events of that night are a little hazy |

Craftworks is the perfect place, IMO. It has micro-brew beer that is not only cheap, but delicious! I could drink that stuff everyday if I lived nearby. And the food is excellent too, and not too over-priced. Another poster said that Craftworks leveled up the weigookin establishments? Have to agree on that one!
Craftworks gets a well deserved 10/10 from me. |
It gets about an 7/10 from me. It's microbrew in a land that beer forgot so a thumbs up there. Yes, the food is a bit better than in other pubs, and yes the serving staff is friendly. All good.
For me the downsides are its location (at the bottom of a hill and closed in without a view to speak of), lack of a bar, and the over all taste of the beer. I found the brews okay to good but nothing I would go out of my way for often, though I'm thankful they are made and craftworks is pushing boundries for the pub businesses. |

| While better than Korean beer, Octoberfest is pretty overrated. Anyone else agree? |

| Wonder if they could sell growlers, that's a little different from regular bottling, isn't it? |

An IPA in Korea? That's hard to believe :)
So what is keeping these breweries from bottling & distributing?
Does any of them fill growlers (or something analogous)? |

A silly law that protects the big brewing companies. You can't get a license to distribute bottled beer in Korea unless you can produce several million bottles a year, effectively locking out any smaller players from the market. |

It's still the best beer going in Korea as far as I can tell. My only criticism is that it is a little to sterile for my taste. White walls, only a few seats at the bar, just a little too up scale. I prefer my bars to be bars. That said, the prices are fair and the beer is good. I'll be going back. |

I'd say it's pretty good. For Korea it's pretty awesome. Best beer I've had in this country (other than the Arrogant Bastards that have been shipped to me ). I hope it's here to stay. |
