Isn't it a tad late to be thinking about this. The point is moot. You have accepted the offer already. If you had perused these boards you would understand accomodation is a big point, especially for your sanity and relaxing times. It shouldn't really be an afterthought.

So your accomodation will either fall into three categories, substandard, liveable, or if you're lucky, comfortable.

If there are other westerners at you Hagwon, you will get the least liveable option as the more experienced NET's will be swooping on the apartment if it's any good. Also they may well be swooping on anything the old teacher has left behind.

You'll find out soon enough, but it'll be liveable. Just don't expect any frills.

I have an option to rent my own place with housing allowance. I was just wondering.

Ah... you didn't mention that. It's a handy option to have, just wait and see what accomodation your work has sorted out for you then decide

why don`t you just ask if your hagwon can send you a few pics of your potential accommodation first? It`s what I`ve done in the past and it wasn`t much of an issue.

However, it may fail to meet the definition of livability if it happens to be just above a noisy HOF.

I once had to live right above "one of those" kinds of music rooms in an officetel. Quiet during the day and LOUD at night.

I'd say on average most officetels are decent places to live. Better than a shoebox, that much I'm sure of.

Pretty much a shoebox in most cases.

I think that there are some JLS teachers in my building. It's in a good area and there are a few different styles of apartments, but in general the smaller ones have nicer closets and they usually have full sized refrigerators.
