Does anybody know if there are opportunities to teach languages other than (or in addition to) English in Korea (or elsewhere in Asia.....such as Japan or Hong Kong)?
I'm assuming that such jobs would be with Universities. What are the requirements aside from fluency and certification in those languages? |

I knew someone who taught Chinese at a hagwon. I've met a few people who work at HUFS teaching French, Spanish and Portuguese. I doubt you'd find many hagwons that offer classes in European languages, but it seems as though there's a smaller-scale version of the English-language market for Chinese and Japanese. |

There are, in fact, hagwons teaching European languages. However, they are rare and employ few foreigners.
Most jobs for these languages would be in universities or in foreign language high schools. While Chinese and Japanese are most popular, there are some jobs available for European languages. |

For schools in Korea, the requirements are the same for teaching English - passport from the country and graduated from university in a country that speaks that language. Not sure about universities and E1 visas - those might be different. |

The people I know teaching languages other than English all teach at universities. They are all native speakers of the language they teach, and they all have their MA. If you have the qualifications, go for it! |
