This is from the Vancouver Consulate website. Do I really need to send my original degree, notarized degree and transcripts?

1. Original university degree
2. A photocopy of university degree which has been notarized by a notary public
within our jurisdiction (BC, AB, SK, Yukon, NWT)
※ This MUST include the followings:
a. Date of Notarization
b. Official Seal of the Notary Public
c. Full name of the Notary Public
d. Signature of the Notary Public
e. Full contact information of the Notary Public including telephone number and address
3. One sealed university transcript (must be most recently issued and it will NOT be
returned)

Only if you want to work on an E2 in Korea (tongue in cheek).

Yes you need to send all 3. They will return the copies and the original degree. They will keep the transcripts.

Get 2 done at the same time and save yourself the hassle should you need another one at some point in the future.
