|
|
Folks,
I'm looking at flights home in August from Seoul to England (Heathrow or Manchester) for a couple of weeks.
I've tried the usual UK and US based sites, but was wondering if there are any Korean based flight websites where I might be able to find a cheaper deal.
I'm looking at leaving Seoul on August 12th (night-time), flying to Heathrow then returning from Manchester to Seoul on August 23rd.
Can anyone suggest any flight websites in Korea that I might be able to find cheap prices on with some translation help from my co-teacher?
Much appreciated! |

I`ve used:
www.onlinetour.co.kr
www.whypaymore.co.kr
www.072.com
I find the first link easiest to navigate and find available tickets (and not wade through the waiting list tkts)
Sometimes KLM`s own site works out even cheaper on occasion for me....worth checking out the airlines` own sites. I think Lufthansa fly to MAN via BMI. |

Try to get both your inbound and outbound flight to/from the same airport.
ICN-MAN-ICN OR ICN-LHR-ICN
You should be aware that if you arrive at one airport and depart from another then you pay a premium for 2 one way flights rather than the discounted return flight prices. (Not applicable to deep discount airlines like Cebu Pacific, Air Asia or Ryan Air).

For KLM it doesn't work that way at least. I just booked a flight about a week ago for the same price had it been from the same inbound/outbound airport (NCL)....
ICN> Rome
NCL>ICN .....1.25 million
same price as ICN> NCL.....NCL>ICN. |

Agree with Murakano here. I've actually found with KLM that it's sometimes cheaper - not by much, but cheaper nevertheless - to fly back from a different airport than to go back from the same one.
I found a couple of combinations where the same applied with Emirates to the UK as well.
And talking of Emirates, that would be one of my suggestions to the OP. Particularly if you want a Friday night departure. Emirates, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines all have departures from ICN around midnight and all fly to Manchester as well as Heathrow. Possibly Etihad might be worth a look too. Not sure if they fly to Manchester, but I'd have thought so given their football connections.
As was mentioned above, check those airlines own sites for prices. I'd second trying the Korean sites mentioned above, however be wary that you'll often initially be shown prices that do not include tax, which will often add on as much as 50-60%. To be honest, you're flying at one of the most expensive times and unless you're willing to fly Aeroflot, I'm not sure you're going to find anything significantly cheaper. I know because I've been looking pretty hard myself for flights around that time. |
