i have eaten banana peel before and it's bitter and tough.
egg shell texture feels horrible when you eat it.
shrimp shells actually add a nice texture. shrimp heads and eyeballs are unsightly so i take it off.
i get what you're trying to do, trying to dismantle my argument. very typical of dave's users. does it make you feel good to be a smart ass on the internet? |
Don't be such a baby.
Didn't you say it's not dangerous to eat. it's got nutrients and it's edible, so why not eat it? People feel shrimp for the same reason they peel
their hard boiled eggs. They peel it's worth the extra effort because the texture is more pleasing without it.
Honestly, I wish the shells didn't bother me. It would make eating shrimp much easier.
I also agree with whoever said they didn't like bone in chicken in curries and stews. I'll eat it I'm with a group and that's what everyone else wants but I try to avoid it.
I don't like all the rice cake thinks people give me at Chuseok. There is little if any flavor and no nutritional value to speak of. I also can't eat many Korean snack/junk food like shrimp chips, Mc Col and pastries with hot dogs in them. |

| im not a picky eater. i'll eat just about anything. but, i don't like eating animal heads and feet. like, chicken feet. it's so unsightly. i've had it before, and it's not terrible tasting, but it's the visual of it that gets to me. that gross bumpy skin with the claws..... ighhhh. what abouts yous? |
it hasn't changed since I was five years old: Olives, mushrooms, fish. D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G! |
Have you lived or being in Taiwan and gone to a Chinese new years celebration in a small village? I remember the strangest food I had ever had one year was in a friends old village I was invited to in Nantou. The table was full of things I had never seen before.
Pig trotters were the favourite, pig intestine, chicken balls (honestly didn't like this it was cooked and then soaked in alcohol), chicken feet etc. The only thing I was used to eating was the prawns except strangely enough these Taiwanese guys who were at my table just ate the whole thing at once with the head attached and unpeeled!
To wash this strange food down was 58% kaoliang which was not served in shots but those big plastic cups.
This one lunch is one of my most vivid memories of Taiwan and not a good one either. I was sitting at a table of drunk old men being forced to drink petrol eating the remains of animal body parts on small chairs shoulder to shoulder with every guy smoking and chewing on beetle nuts while eating and drinking! |
Dude, you had the privilege of being at a hardcore traditional party, like something out of a Kublai Khan invasion campaign storybook. |

Celery. Absolutely the vilest and most offensive 'food' in the world. People rave about it's negative calorie content, which just makes it seem worse to me. Why bother putting yourself through that for no reward?
The surest way to completely ruin a decent salad. |

Nope. I hate it in all it's various forms. Even the smell is enough to make me gag. I can detect even the merest hint of celery in food, so when people assure me that there's 'only a little' celery in the salad, I know that I can't eat any of it. |

| Ah okay. I was just curious, because I used to love it in soup, but hated it raw. I've only recently started liking it raw. |

Nah, not american. I'm French Canadian =p.
I've nothing against Indians. The food looks , smells and tastes delicious but 2 hours after I eat it I get the worst stomach ache and puke every single time. Perhaps I'm allergic to the spices? Maybe I was lucky enough to get food poisoning every single time I've eaten Indian food? I'm not sure whats going on. |

Try making some vegetarian curry at home. Then you can see if it's the spice blend or not. If not, then you can make your own with meat that you carefully choose. |

Nah , I'm good. I think i can live without Indian food honestly.
IT tastes good and all but i really don't care much for it. Not enough to go out and buy ingredients and make my own or figure out how to cook indian food.
I cook Korean and japanese curry though and its awesome. |

You probably got food poisoning the first time that you tried Indian food and have developed a food aversion.
I have one and it's to tea. I was taking some medication that made me sick and it was summer, so I was drinking a lot of iced tea. I don't drink it anymore because it makes me vomit.
What is that, you want to go to a tea tasting? Ummm...No thank you! |

It was a joke.
I'm saying it's another example of laziness. Bone-in chicken pieces in curry or stir fries serve little purpose in my opinion. |
Bones add flavor. Ask any proper chef. Stock is made from bones.
There's very few foods/ingredients I dislike in of themselves, but I hate low-quality stuff. For example, I have no problem with hamburgers, but McDonald's hamburgers are gnarly to me.
One thing I despise in beondaegi. Tried it in Vietnam and tried it here a few times. Can't do it.
Green peppers, especially raw green bell peppers, are off-putting. |

Bones do add so much flavor! Love the stuff, and it's such a treat when you can get to the marrow.
Beondaegi is something I despise, along with every other insect. I can eat and enjoy basically everything else. |

| I'm okay with most Korean food except their seafood. 해물탕 and 매운탕 are abominations. I like seafood to be lightly seasoned and grilled/baked. Throwing some random sea creatures in a pot and boiling it in the obligatory red-pepper paste until the meat turns to rubber, is just not good eating. I wish they would look at other Asian countries and see how they do it. |
