Here in Vancouver Canada I have been asked to have my original copy of the criminal background check notarized. The info regarding this can be found on the Korea consulate web site. It CLEARLY SAYS SO.

Here's what others have said ~

I got the CBC in the mail less than a week later. I took it and a photocopy to the Korean consulate, where they promptly handed back the photocopy to me and stamped the original. - zenjenny
-TRIED THIS BUT NOT POSSIBLE HERE IN VANCOUVER.

No notary public is needed for the CBC... - zenjenny
- NOT TRUE HERE IN VANCOUVER It MUST BE NOTARIZED!!
Why the consulate in Toronto does not require a notarized CBC baffles
me.

The consulate stamped the original CBC and gave it back to me, yes.

-TRUE HERE IN VANCOUVER

The consulate will "certify" the original CBC and return it to you.
- ttompatz
- TRUE ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL CBC NOTARIZED.
the term "certify" in quotations suggests that the original CBC
need not be notarized. NOT TRUE HERE IN VANCOUVER

Just want to make things clear.

For the U.S. FBI background check, if it's a U.S. FBI background check you can't really copy it. When you copy the FBI background check there's a watermark all over the document. Try copying it, it will state "unauthorized copy".

For CBC you should turn in the original + apostille. For degree, turn in a copy of degree and apostille attached.
