I've noticed a few recruiters offering EPIK positions now. Are these legitimate? I noticed a few of them stipulate lesson plans as part of the application process. Is this a current requirement for EPIK? I did an EPIK gig I was relatively satisfied with in 2008 and had no such requirement.

Are these schools difficult fits/bad principals perhaps? Or, maybe just out in the sticks? Would any of you advise against trying to transfer to one?

These are the schools whose Native Teacher did a runner or quit part way in to the contract. So in applying for these positions you'd be replacing the runner, it doesn't mean per se that there's a problem with the school.

I came in october for my position and it's a dream school, work conditions-wise. Remember, as soon as a single teacher quits on a school, that school will be out of sync with the main March intake every year after, in regards to position start dates.

There was only 3 weeks between my initial application to EPIK and my first day at work.

EDIT: regarding the lesson plan in the application, I did have to provide one, but I think it's because when applying to EPIK this way you avoid the long drawn out process that main intakers have to deal with, but it also means EPIK have a harder time separating the useless applicants from the good ones (e.g there's no in-person interviews, so they need more ways to judge on the abilities of the applicants, like the lesson plan)
