My contract ends in 3 weeks and I intend to re-sign. When I went to get my documents so we could start the process I found that my apostilled copy of my degree was not with the other papers. I hoping I can turn it up in the next 24 hours or so, but if not I need some advice on how I can replace it in the quickest possible way or if there is anything else I can do to help overcome this obstacle to re-signing. I figure I can't be the first person to find themselves in this position.

I re-signed with my school in January. As long as it's the same school and everything, you don't need your degree. I took in:

1.Passport
2.Alien card
3. 2 signed copies of contract (one original and one copy).
4. 1 sponsorship letter from employer (신원보증서).
5. A copy of school�s business registration form (고유번호증).
6. 30,000 won fee.
7.Application Form (You can print off the website: http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/index.html

My handler asked me to bring in my apostilled degree and Criminal Records Check but when the time rolled around, I didn't have the documents. I printed off an email that I sent asking the RCMP if they have processed my check (which they didn't have in their systems) and I noticed immigration put that in a file.

I had to sign a promise letter saying that I would have these documents the "next time" I apply for a visa.

Order the document/degree from the school. Forward it to the states to save you time. Then mail it to an apostille agency www.apostillepros.com in the U.S. They can have it apostille for you in 1 day, shipped out to Korea in 2-3 days by FedEx.

The only problem is with some schools it takes 4-6 weeks to order a degree.
