I wonder if their first names really are Lee and Kim.

They make it sound like halving its population would be a bad thing. I for one can't wait for this infinitely less-crowded, much more liveable Korea.

I wouldn't mind snagging a North Korean woman. Less materialistic, more conservative. Sounds good to me.

The part about being less materialistic or being like his mother?

Either way, I don't really see what's pathetic. I mean, the guys a 42yr old truck driver. It's not like he has many choices when it comes to dating.

The second part. The age is beside the point. It basically shows that a lot of guys in this country are overly attached to their mothers. The other guy wants his new gf to go live on the farm with his mother as well. Now tell me that isn't pathetic?...

A lot of guys like women who are traditionally feminine. Many foreigners in Korean would say that that's something like about their Korean girlfriend or wife.

My girlfriend, Korean, is much more feminine than any girlfriend I dated back home and I can't complain.

Feminine and traditional doesn't mean weak.

Also, about that guy being pathetic, try being a single 42 year old truck driver. How long would you last in his world?

Agreed. I don't really see what's pathetic. The guy is obviously not happy being single so he's taking steps to rectify that. Sure, the mother thing is perhaps a little weird, but I applaud the guy. He's doing something about it rather than whinging to other people. I think it's more pathetic to come online and mock the guy when you don't even know him.

"did they send aid when americans were dying during katrina?"

Yes, actually, they did.

Quote:
The Japanese Foreign Ministry said that it would provide $200,000 to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina. Japan also identified needs in affected regions via the U.S. government and provided up to $1,000,000 in emergency supplies such as tents, blankets and power generators if they receive requests from the U.S. for such assistance. Private and corporate donations totaled over $13,000,000.[33] One Japanese individual, Takashi Endo, donated USD $1,000,000 from his personal funds to Katrina relief efforts.[15]

Wow.

Just goes to show how harmful belief in a divine being can be to common sense. Although... wasn't the central theme of Jesus' teachings to be compassionate?

If your Korean is up to par...

I found a phone number on the train today advertising help in finding a lady-friend for marriage from NK, Vietnam and the Philippines. However, when I called I got no answer. They returned my call and hung up when I spoke English.
