Can anyone help me decide?? At the moment I am leaning firmly towards one of the 3RSystem cases...they look quality and spacious with good cooling.

Really? I thought the 3RSystem seemed to have the best features...specifically the L-1000 Odyssey especially with a heat gauge. I can't read Korean computer jargon though so I'm just guessing on a lot. WHat does the antec have that the 3rsystem doesn't and vice versa?

LCD displays on cases are useless cost-adding gimmicks IMO........everything they show can be shown by hardware monitoring software like Lavalys Aida64.

The 3R 1200 would be the best if I could be sure that all that tool-less stuff actually worked. Not every tool-less system holds the drives too well. Especially in sub-$100 cases. At least the Antec uses just good old screws which we know works.

The thing that goes wrong most often I think with cases is the power switch going kaput and the front panel clips breaking which means you have to start taping it on which is a hassle...

Okay, so you think the Antec won't give me any problems and the 3R will? If you have time, could you peruse the two sites and give me your opinion on best cases for cost/performance?

Also, when I'm putting this thing together...what tools do I need besides a phillips screwdriver? Do I need a grounding bracelet? I always thought it was fine just to touch the metal side panel then go to town without risk of static shock. Also, should I get some type of gloves?

I've cut myself a few times building with cheap cases....so gloves could be useful.

I never use the bracelets ......try to avoid walking/working on carpet and touch something metal often and you should be ok.

Isn't it time you got to building already! Laughing

Order the parts, watch a few Youtube vids, take a look at the manuals, and you'll be fine!

I had a cheap Antec case like that before, no problems with it, sturdy little thing!

I'd go with the Antec, the silverstone with the mesh front or the VRex USB3.0 thing. All look pretty samey, depends if the slightly diferent features float your boat, at first that sata caddy on the front looked cool, then I thought I'm never gonna use that, and the other fan control options look cool, but it might be you set them once and thats it anyway.

After a month of owning any case they're all the same anyway! Tucked under the desk just doing there thing, they'll all do that ok!

couple of philips head and thats it, one big one small, no need to go all out with a bracelet, just avoid the kids balloons and nylon jumpers the minute before you touch anything.

Thanks I went with the Antec and bought 3 more 120mm fans. I figured when I sleep the fan lights would annoy the frack out of me.
