yea I just caught that. You can't get a train stop more smack dab in the middle of Seoul, lol. Anyway, I hate Itaewon for the record. Dirty. |

It does depend on where you live because the #6 line doesn't go everywhere but, yeah, it is close to Yongsan for those coming to Seoul from the south. |

Yes, but I've met other foreign teachers who had only seen Itaewon and no other parts of Seoul, and one had been in Korea for three years. So many get locked into Itaewon, for whatever reasons. There are certain "crowds" that hang there. It's just one place of many in Seoul that everyone should see. |

btw i love itaewon, if you know where to go you can find some good restaurants and bars, just avoid the slimy areas and its great, hongdae and hyewha etc do nothing for me |

i used to be anti-itaewon. but after being here for 3 years, i have now come to embrace it, at least for the restaurants. i still think it's seedy, but the reality is, 99% of restaurants, coffee shops, shopping areas in the rest of seoul are identical. is there something special about the kalbi place in jongno that i can't get in gangnam?
at least itaewon has a variety of food you can choose from. |

| Remember my first and only time I went there. On my own on a Saturday night. Stayed till mid afternoon Sunday. Cash points were closed and I had no money but met some older American fellas, one of which sorted me a few quid till the morning. Man it was wild. I basically people watched for an hour at dawn and recorded ten short videos that I named "slices of itaewon". It was a zoo. Fight after fight etc. We sat in some seedy bars as the hookers tried to tout my business. We sat drinking as the sun rose, sweating. Nigerians playing the "I'm a gangsta rappa" act. It was a sad but entertaining experience. |

Oh I like going to other places, but I make Itaewon a regular stop to pick up some certain choice foods, and have a nice dinner that I don't have to cook. Also, there's the steel-tip darts. |

Save for some of the "ethnic" food which I have yet to be truly impressed by, Itaewon is pretty much the cesspool of the lowest IQ's that the current population of Korea has to offer (my personal opinion of course). Most nites when my friends want to meet in Itaewon they are greeted by groans and generally negative discourse.

They seem to have very little understanding of copyright infringement.
The video itself was pretty boring...I mean...why do couples come here and then make cheesy videoblogs? Is it because a two person blog wouldn't work?
I dunno.
As for Itaewon...I hated it for my first two and a half years...and then I got over myself a bit and now I can dig it on the odd occasion that I must venture forth. |
