|
|
So my boss has agreed to allow me to use my vacation days so that I can take a job a week before the end of my contract. My replacement teacher will supposedly arrive at that time and will need my apartment anyway. I will be transferring my visa to my next job immediately. Supposing my employer pays me everything I'm owed, is there any problem that can arise from transferring the visa a week before the end of the contract, even though it is agreed upon and I have the letter of release I need to make the transfer? |

GET IT IN WRITING. Memories of employers are short when it means forgetting will save them a few million won. They cant pretend they didnt say something when their signature is under the words on a piece of paper. Labor board also prefers paper over disputed agreements made during conversations. Signatures and stamps of both parties and a witness.
You also dont need an LOR if you are transferring to a new employer at the end of a contract as long as you make the transfer when there is still time left on your ARC. |

Yeah, I'll definitely be getting it in writing. I was just wondering if it matters all that much to immigration.
And I called the immigration number and they said I would need a letter of release for the transfer, even at the end of the contract, because it's still the same visa number. And I would technically be transferring the visa before the end of the contract. |

Yup! You are transferring your visa (owned by your school) so even though you are finished your contract, you need the release letter.
Otherwise, you need to submit all your documents again. |
