Hey I want to know before I go to Korea what protein can be bought easily without hassle in Korea and what prices am I looking to pay? I prefer more natural stuff and not worried about flavour. Though I want the one with maximum whey protein and little to no carbs/sugar.

Any takes on this?

GNC, GNC, GNC.

GNC is your friend.

GNC is grossly overpriced in Korea.

Your best bet is online. You'll need the help of a Korean native to register but I use mass119.

Others have had good luck with speedns.

If you'd rather purchase in person, Namdaemun foreign good market.

But price wise, you can't beat online, even with shipping.

I bought some Whey Isolate at my local Vitamin Hut or whatever it's called. Paid 100K. 2KG. Vanilla flavored. Some Canadian company called Oranix. I just didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of GNC or getting it online.

What's wrong with GNC,,,

It has all of the basic nutrients that a non-docile, energy-burning machine needs.

Picking it up at E-Mart or Lotte Mart directly saves the hassle of having to wait for 'taekbae' all day or carrying big jugs of stuff from your school/work to apartment.

I brought some amino acid horse pills from home and will take a GNC calcium tablet as I'm getting older and worried about osteoperosis. Steady exercise certainly helps bones from getting brittle to quickly.

GNC's price vs. their nutrient profile = terrible value for the price. Some of their supplements, after the GNC member's discount, aren't bad but their protein prices are terrible.

IHERB.com

iHerb is significantly cheaper than GNC. I bought a 5 pound tub of TwinLabs protein for 35$ US. They have whey and vegetable protein and specialize in shipping to Korea.

Use code HAC304 to get 5$ off your order.

GNC sucks because they use cheap products and cheap manufacturing methods that degrade the protein.

Yup Iherb. Has a 2 week shipping period though (In General)

There's a Korean site called Healkoreaus.com. Probably the only online Korean supplement store a foreigner can buy from. They don't accept ARC numbers but you can register via email with your passport ID number. They're a little bit more expensive than Iherb, but you'll get whatever you order within 3 days.

Speedns has really good prices but foreigners can't order from it. You'll need a Korean friend to do everything and wire him or her the money. As a once in awhile thing ok, but most people don't want to be your shopping lackey every month

Up to you

BTW, you don't need to lug things around from your school to your home. Tell the company to leave it with your apartment guard if your not home. They're be held liable if it goes missing. I NEVER had a problem with it. And I've ordered things worth 3 or 4000 USD.

speedns.co.kr gets to you within a week.
