There's a 2000 Won store in Sadang Station. Everything is you guessed it, 2,000 won. Great place to get set up if you're just moving in to a new place. Lots of dishes, silverware, cleaning supplies, etc... |

I don't know why these places aren't more common in Korea.. I saw heaps of 100 yen shops in Japan..
I thought it could be a good business in Korea.
I was talking to a Korean 'businessman' about it and he looked at me like it was the dumbest thing he ever heard.. Too original I guess! he would probably rather go and open up a kimpap store right next to 3 others. |

There's one man outside exit 7 of Hapjeong Station who sets many small bins of various items out on the ground and charges 1000 won for each. Kind of a storeless 1000 won store. |

I've seen a chain store, I think called Daiso which is a 1000 won store, selling everything from makeup to kitchen cleaning things to stationary. |

No way! This must be a Japanese import. Za (as in THE) Daiso is a major 100 Yen shop in Japan.
Where is this place? The wife will go wild with nostalgia... |

It's a chain like I said. I've seen one in Mokpo (a stand alone store) and I believe in the basement of IF-U (I think) in Gwangju.
Happy hunting! |

Many record stores in Korea allow a person to buy kung fu DVDs for less than 5000 won. |
