There's this one famous place. "Mr. Kim's Golden Garden." Go out Seoul Station exit #12. Go straight for 6 blocks. Turn right. Go 11 blocks and take a left at the Burger King. Walk down there a while until you come to a 7-11. Take a left. Go up the hill and look for a tire shop. Take a right. Go straight for 7 blocks and then turn left at the Kalbi restaurant. Walk about 1.5 kms and then you'll come to a 6 ways intersection. Take the 2nd left closest to the scooter repair shop. The jewerly store is on the opposite corner. Can't miss it.

Shawn you're well mean- just because your girl said no when you proposed.

There's a whole row of shops on Jong-no. I think the area is Jong-no-sam(3)-ga. but it could be Jong-no-4-ga, or even Jong-no-5, anyway it's right on the main street there and you can't miss shop after shop of gold jewellery. Happy hunting.

Did you find a good ring? What was the experience in buying it?

i had my wifes wedding and engagement ring custom made. Thats the way to go. Materials are expensive but settings are almost free. Everyone always freaks about how beautiful and unique her rings are. We shopped around a lot!!! Main stone only .69 carat (engagement) but have 20 inlaid diamonds around the wedding ring all in white gold. Pleased with price and workmanship.

Has anybody ever priced engagement rings in Korea? What would be a ballpark number?

Well, that depends on so many things. The last diamond I bought was in the USA. It was about 11,000 $. Very Happy
