As a backup plan, go online, order a new degree/diploma from your school just in case. Some schools only take 1 week, while others take 4-6 weeks.
It's like $20-$50

Some schools (my undergrad) put up a huge fuss about it and only put in orders a few times / year. |

| Agreed. I could care less what some scam-artist recruiter or hagwon owner says, you're not touching my diploma. You should treat your diploma like your passport. You wouldn't want that floating around in someone elses hands now would you? |
Speaking of...OP: Do you have your passport in your possession? |

| actually, i JUST got it back yesterday after it being gone for 2 weeks. it wasn't the hagwon who had it (although they asked for it, maybe just to see it, but i gave a scanned copy that i had) i went to immigration to 'register' myself and get an i.d. stupid thing was, that i did that BEFORE i opened my bank account. so the past 2 weeks i've had to use cash for everything and it's been kind of inconvenient. anyway, got it back finally so i'm happy now. |

i never got it back even though i asked for it several times. the worst part is, I have since left that place b/c they changed my starting/end times and how many hours I would be working (w/o paying for overtime). i said forget that, i'm not dealing with this many problems in the beginning so i got outta there. i left a note asking where i needed my diploma to be sent. sooooooo annoying and i doubt i'll ever get it back. probably will have to order a new one which will cost me $75.
so lesson learned- NEVER GIVE YOUR ORIGINAL DIPLOMA. they can look but no touching! sometimes you have to learn the hard way. or in my case, the stupid way. |

Some peoples' schools are rather stingy when it comes to getting copies of diplomas. |
