to submit fingerprints again.
I just got an FBI CBC recently, but I've decided to take some time off, and so I may not take a new job until the current CBC has expired. KIMMI, in their gracious wisdom, deems them worthless 6 months after their issuance date.
And since it can take up to 3 months to get the CBC and then it has to be sent to the US State Dept. to get the apostille seal (maybe another 3 weeks), one had better be careful to always be working and always have this FBI CBC record check in progress.
So, my question is, do you have to submit a new set of fingerprints every time? Minor issue, but worth knowing. |

Sorry I can't give you a reference for the answer, but I would imagine fingerprints need to be sent with any request to the FBI. I just can't see them taking the time to match up your new request with the old request.
I am posting to add on to your question a bit. Do you think you need new apostilled degree copies too? Don't those expire after 6 months also? Even though degrees don't usually get canceled by the university, I thought I read before that K-Immi views degree copies as only valid 6 months. |

I'm finding myself in the same boat. But I feel like I read somewhere (something from SMOE maybe?) that the FBI check can be submitted to immigration anytime, that it does not necessarily have to be done when applying for a new visa. So it could be submitted now instead of 7 months from now when the visa application will take place, but still be valid for the next visa, so long as you don't leave korea for more than a month or something between contracts.
But now I am searching for this info, not finding it, and starting to wonder if I made this up, or heard it all in a dream. Anybody know? |
