Put the win7 disc back in the drive and boot from that, then just install over the top of whatever is on the drive.
You might see the option 'press anykey to boot from CD/DVD in the first 10 seconds of boot, do this, OR
You might need to fix the bios to set it from boot from CD-Rom drive rather than HDD first though.

Easy Smile

I fixed it myself....sorry. So my win7 index scores are

CPU: 7.3
RAM: 7.3
Graphics: 7.8
Game Graphics: 7.8
HDD: 5.9

Is 7.3 too low on the index for a i5 2500k? I was doing other stuff while running it so it might have affected it.

Yeah. 7.3 is too low. That CPU should be 7.7 at stock. Try running WEI again a few minutes after a restart and with nothing else running.

Constantly at 7.3. GPU is 7.8 across the board.

There doesn't seem to be any computer problems....what should I do?

It says under system:

Processor: i5 2500k CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.60GHz

Reading up. people are getting varying scores...so I guess everything is gravy.

"My i5 2500k @ 4.2GHZ is 7.5"

"You need over 4ghz for 7.9.

I only get 7.5 with my i5 @ 3.8 ghz."

"Just for reference I get 7.3 on a i3 @ 4.3ghz"

"I bought a new Intel Core i7-2600K last week, which is rated at 7.6 according to WEA."

"I think but I'm not sure my 5.1GHz i7 2600k only got 7.8...

you need the 6 core i7 980X for 7.9"

"I went from a Q9550 @ 3.8GHz to an i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz and my score stayed the same @ 7.7. Weird, my 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 memory has a score of 7.9, everything else is at 7.7."

People are getting various scores there because they're doing various levels of overclocking........but from the benchmarks I've seen about the 2500k it should give you 7.6 at stock. No overclocking.

But then again, WEI is not a very reliable benchmark......use something like Sisoft Sandra, Cinebench, or Lavalys Everest for better benchmarking.

Two people with OC'ed i5 2500k:

"My i5 2500k @ 4.2GHZ is 7.5"

"You need over 4ghz for 7.9.

I only get 7.5 with my i5 @ 3.8 ghz."

Mine is @ 3.3ghz and I am getting 7.3 Seems about right.

But I agree, WEI is not reliable.

An i5 2500k at 4.2ghz getting only 7.5!!?? Even WEI isn't that unreliable!

That just sounds like someone getting everything wrong. Lots of these forum posts can't be trusted.

Even my Phenom x6 1055T overclocked at 3.5ghz gets 7.7 every time on WEI..........and it's not nearly as efficient as a 2500k.

But, who knows.....these internet forum posts can't exactly be taken as gospel.

That's because WEI rates 6 cores higher and you have .2 ghz on the 2500k when not OC'ed. Remember it takes all aspects into consideration when choosing the score.

Performance however is different. I don't think anything is wrong with the chip as the only issue is the WEI score. I run all games on ultra settings with no problem...and I haven't even OC'ed yet.

Even this only got a 7.7
CPU 7.7 (i5-2500k @ 4.6)

WEI is a joke:lol:

p.s. Can anyone suggest a good CPU cooler if/when I OC my i5?

WEI is a joke. Those numbers mean nothing. Use Cinebench. These numbers also mean nothing.

Benching means nothing. I'm in a strange mood. I love to bench.

You bench to compare your own system when you make changes to it. Comparing with other people is futile. Too many factors, all chips, RAM, GPUs, CPUs are different, even the ones that are supposed to be the same.

Go to seonin plaza in yongsan and get any zalman after market cooler that fits your board. Zalman makes some excellent coolers, not that expensive either.
