Hello. Does anyone know where the best screen golf is in Seoul. The best I've tried so far is Golfzon in Itaewon. Any better simulators than Golfzon? I'm more concerned about the quality of the simulator rather than the environment.

TIA

Wow! That place looks incredible! Although, no detailed info on the screen golf on the web. Thanks.

Anyone else have details about Tiger World's screen golf or another great screen golf place?

I haven't been to a screen golf place that didn't use a Golfzon simulator.
I personally don't like the place in Itaewon at all. They don't allow you to bring in your own drink.
Also, you have to pay extra if you want to play at any course besides two Korean ones.

Theres one at Sungshin Womens University that I liked a lot when I lived there.
The equipment was a lot better quality, the staff were nicer and there was no problem bringing in your own drink.
Its a little bit cheaper also and you can choose any of the courses for no extra cost.
The rooms are not as big or comfortable as the one in Itaewon though.

Exit 7 of Sungshin Womens university on line 4, walk straight, past Lotteria and its in the basement of a building called the golden Tower.
Maybe not worth the effort if you don't live near it though.

The Golfzon in the middle of Myeong-dong is also pretty decent but i don't know the directions.

Thanks! Yes, the Itaewon staff is not the best, but the rooms are huge! A little better and less expensive than Itaewon...I may need to check Sungshin out.

I hate how they practically invented a commonplace VR room and what do people do on it? Play golf. The most boring game in the world.

I'd much rather use a screen golf room to simulate hunting humans in a jungle or shooting helicopters with RPGs or a fully customizable simulation like having hordes of complaining (virtual) hagwon children walking towards you like zombies so you can hit them with a 5-iron or something... but GOLF!? Boring!

There's a place near Nonhyeon station.

http://gtckorea.co.kr/non/non01.php?mNum=2

Get off at exit 3 and walk towards the east along the road for a few minutes.

On your left in a big building that is also a church you should see a screen golf sign. Go behind the building and up the stairs.

The place is the best Screen Golf place I have been to in Korea. All the rooms (19 of them!) have Golfzon swingplates (the ones that tilt according to your lie) and there's a couple rooms with lefty-machines. The public golf clubs are of excellent quality. Not some rusty "My first no-name golf clubs" set. Draft Beer, hole in one prizes, and the place is just clean (As shiny and clean as it looks on the website photos). There is one problem- The place is twice as expensive as any other screen golf and finding the place is a little tricky.

If "Best Screen Golf" is what you're looking for, I can't really think of any place that could beat it, though I'm sure there are some that are just as good. This is the place you would have a business outing or entertain some clients.

Also if you need to get your golf fix in when out of town or in another neighborhood, check the golfzon website.

So you are wondering why people want to do a social activity rather than acting out childish violent fantasies? What losers they are....

Anyways, you sir, obviously have never been golfing.

Do you like drinking? Smack talking? Gambling? Cigars? Liquor? It's kinda like bowling only you get to be outside and operate motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol. Screen golf is that minues the outdoors and carts, and also you build up skill at a game which is good for networking.

If wanting to play first person shooters on it makes me childish than yes, I'm rather childish. Yes, I actually have played screen golf and I did enjoy it, I just wish there was more than just golf available.

It's more or less that golf isn't an interesting sport without the social aspect in place. Those of use under 40 who aren't in business have no real need to play golf. I've never met anyone in my life who takes real golf seriously. I guess there might be some 40-60 year olds out there someone but definitely no one within 10 years of my age.

If you're going to simulate something on a huge screen and interact with it using your body, why does it have to be golf of all things? It would be awesome to have the same technology but for other purposes.

I don't want to network. I want to play computer games on a giant screen using my body as a controller. Screen golf is such a tease in that it is that but it forces you to play golf with it.

Where I work at Troon Golf Academy at Namsan we have 3d screen golf called 3TRAK.Its KRW30,000 for 18 holes and there are some specials. There are some great courses from around the world and Korean courses as well.
I am an Aussie golf instructor working at the range up there so please PM me if you'd like to use the screen golf or get some lessons at our range!

Well the fact is that it reads only the golf ball, not your whole body. To read your whole body would dramatically increase the necessary systems to operate it.

As for shooting games, we've had that since Duck Hunt. To make it meaningful you'd need to have full body sensors. Same with other sports. The only other sport I could see making the jump is bowling, but bowling is already done indoors.

I'd love to do some kind of V-R Battle of Britain or Crecy or Stalingrad, but that would be pretty difficult to get going and have it being a decent simulation.

And I'm not going to pay 10,000 won to blast zombies. How is spraying bullets at inept adversaries fun?

Golf is fun even without the social aspect. You go outside and get to walk. Sitting in some dark apartment while shooting at whatever doesn't exactly sound like the bees knees either.
