I used apostillepros.com. Excellent service and turnaround time. Pricey, but considering I'll be set back months if my CBC is messed up, I decided to spend the money. Also I'll make more than the $175, actually working in Korea, in the 4-6 weeks it would have taken to send my CBC in to DC. Apostillepros sends it to CA and gets the state to apostille bc its cheaper than getting docs apostilled at the federal level.

Yeah, I just called and checked and Texas doesn't do federal docs.
Do you know....if I were to send it to a friend in DC to take to the SOS, will they do it, or do I have to be there in person? |

| I live in Ohio and my SOS said that they apostille copies of the FBI check but not an original. A previous poster said that the FBI doc can't be copied. Anyone with some input on this? |

| Never ever use the Washington DC Dept of State apostille. It takes forever and your documents are in limbo there. They never answer the phones or return messages and you'll be left sweating trying to find out where the hell your documents are while your job is getting impatient waiting for you. Get your state's DoS to apostille it. |

FBI doc cannot be copied and will read "unauthorized copy"
I know my recruiter says my CBC must have a federal apostille, not state. |

There was someone who just asked about original fbi or copy. Same question too for this answer.

When you copy a FBI check, (you can try it yourself), the entire document will say, "unauthorized copy" all over the document.
- apostille copy of degree/diploma
