From talking to former employees/teachers (both Korean and native English teachers)

The 7s in Bundang is one place to stay the hell away from.

Constant badgering and criticism from management, even when things are going well.

A lot of the criticism comes in a way of late night or early morning 'meetings', outside of school hours which they will not pay you overtime for.

I've also read several negative posts concerning the director. Certainly not a person I would want to work for or trust.

Also heard from several former Korean employees that they have not been paying their employees their pensions.

They view contracts as "guideline", meaning, if they want to screw you, they will screw you. Contracts only works for their benefit.

If you do want to apply, ask to talk to some former and current teachers.

The job ad says the R&D position will start out as a teacher "so you get to know things" so you'll start as a teacher with no housing. Sounds like they want to be able to cut their losses easily. Maybe they have experience in this regard.

if you are in the area, one way is to stake out the school - see the teachers working there and see if you can talk to them for a few minutes regarding the school

if you're not around, posting on Dave ESL or any other forum might be the only way

you really have to learn to read between the line with a lot of these ads, starting out as a teacher then go to development makes sense, unless they just wanted a teacher and uses the development ladder as a bait

update on 7s Bundang, heard from a Korean (American) teacher, things havent really improve in that school, it seems they're still doing off-hours meeting without overtime pay, and all they do in the meeting is talk nonsense and berate their employees/teachers
you want to work in a place like that, be my guest

a little update from a couple of ex-employees;

they did confirmed overtime work without overtime pay,
long meaningless meetings and 'seminars' outside of working hours, again without pay

was told they forced the teachers to work last Wednesday which was a national holiday, without extra pay

but they would bitch at you for the smallest infraction or when a student quits,

the school looks like it's ready to go bankrupt

certainly try to talk to some of the teachers in that school

proceed with extreme caution
