I've seen some prices of the Ipad 2 on the grey market in Korea.
It seems quite a few Koreans are balking at the price.
What is amusing to me is that they balk when an Ipad 2 is marked up but
are completely content paying too much for Korean products like
Samsung, LG, Hyundai, etc... |

They have no choice regarding Samsung, LG, Hyundai products. Those companies themselves mark-up the price to cover expansion overseas.
But you can find Apple products cheaper from other countries.
In any case, the iPad is coming to Korea, HK, Singapore next month so it's going to be quite tough to get rid of an iPad 2 at a huge price since all Apple products are priced almost identically across the world. |

I think the launch in the other countries is going to be small. Considering its taking Apple 4-5 weeks to fill orders for American customers who ordered on the internet the day after launch, I find it hard to believe Apple has the inventory to roll out globally on a large scale.
I'm guessing Korea, HK, and Singapore are going to get a relatively small number of Ipads. The people first in line at those countries are going to get their Ipads in April. The rest will have to wait until May. |

New Samsung tabs look promising.
