I have been in Korea exactly one month today. After I arrived my director took me to do the physical but it so happened that I didnt pass the drug test. Had to be due to the tylenol and Ibuprophen I take because I do not do drugs at all.
Anyways, the day he was to take me to redo the test, he decided he was closing the school and my co-workers and I were unemployed just like that.
I still havent done the redo-test nor do I have my ARC yet and need to find out...is there a limit to how long you have to do this ?? Will there be fines for going past 30 days ( thats what someone told me is the limit ) ??
I was told I could transfer my visa to another school ( since my director gave me a letter of release ) but I still have to get the med/ARC ...
Im lost as to what to do. Please advise me ??

| Bit of bad luck there! Where did you do the physical? Was it a hospital or a 'friend' of the boss. Get a school first and worry about the medical later! |

Done at a hospital.
Ive got a couple of good leads for new schools thanx to the foreign community here. Was just wondering if there was a time limit before I end up having to leave the country for a new visa....instead of just transferring. |

ARC has to be done within 90 days of your arrival.
If the school has closed you have bigger issues to worry about than the ARC.
Get yourself down to immigration, explain your circumstances and then, after they give you a 30 day limit, find a new employer and transfer.
Then you can re-take your medical and get your ARC.
Employment is needed to get the ARC.

Thanx ttompatz, thats the info I was looking for.
My director gave me a letter of release and now Im eligible to be rehired. I have a couple of offers to consider.
I also have until the end of the month to move out of my apt ( which is coming up quickly ) so decisions need to be made.
