i could write pages about the craziness i've seen driving in korea. haven't been involved in an accident, yet, but came damn close last weekend. i was on a packed bus and the bus driver, as usual, was driving fast and seemingly out of control. i've become somewhat desensitized to this, but this guy was spending a lot of time driving on the wrong side of the road. in a busy area he was weaving in and out of traffic. to avoid another bus that had stopped he went a good meter into the oncoming traffic lane. and there was traffic there! another bus, heading straight towards us lays on the horn, and so does our driver. he didn't want to slow down or yield. as other passengers gasped i told my wife to hold on in anticipation of impending doom. the two buses smacked side mirrors, making a lot of noise, and causing a few screams, but not impeding our driver in the least. he didn't stop and didn't say a word. neither did anyone on the bus.
what is going on! why oh why is everyone in a race to get everywhere?!!!! |

| I like riding buses so we can go through red lights and around other cars. |

Well, with bus drivers, the faster they finish their route, the longer their break will be at the end. To me it seems like a damn stressful life - speeding, honking, weaving in and out of traffic - all for an extra smoke at breaktime. |

Yeah, what is it with the red lights. Are they allowed to break them or is it just a kind of sport they play at?
ACtually, I blogged a bus experience recently, if anyone's interested...
