Anybody know anything about it? I've read bad and good things about other branches. |

I can't seem to find anything either. I have an interview with them tonight. I'll let you know what kind of feeling I get from them - for what that's worth.... |

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. I got a really good vibe from the wongjangnim (to be frank, she seems pretty awesome), but I'm not always the best judge. I talked to some people currently working for Worwick in a town further south and they like it. But I've seen really bad reviews for a different location. I understand that the chains can be very different at different locations... |

Hi,
Ok so, I ended up doing more research and finding some really not good reviews on that location (not paying salaries, etc) and ended up canceling the interview. Sorry about that, I know you were looking for a little more feedback. Just decided it wasn't worth my time to do the interview |

Where did you see the reviews? I saw some bad reviews too, but they were about the Daechi location. |

OK, cool, I saw those too. Those reviews definitely come from Daechi teachers (don't know why they posted on the Bundang site - glitch?).
I talked to a couple of the Cheongju Worwick teachers (found their blogs via google and Facebooked him) and they're very happy, for what it's worth. The Bundang location teachers still haven't gotten back to me.
Ugh, choosing a hogwan is hard. |

I'm working at a good academy in Bundang and there is a position opening at the end of April. I've never had any payment problems and the other teachers are good to work with. I could put anyone interested in contact with the owner. |

Bundang is a nice place to live. You will make friends and have things to do outside of work. If the pay is acceptable and the contract isn't full of garbage, you can deal with the boss's aggrevations. Most hagwons are similar in this respect. |

Thought I'd update on the Worwick situation, if anyone's curious. I am one of the teachers that worked at Worwick, and I left one of the reviews. Worwick then fired me one week before the end of my contract for slander. They couldn't prove that I wrote the review and knew they couldn't fire me over it, so instead they said I was being fired because I taught the wrong book from their library (they told me I could choose any books from their library).
They also fired another teacher who had a tattoo they didn't like - the tattoo was in a place that would always be covered by clothing, but another teacher saw it when he was changing his shirt and told the principal about it.
I'm told that the principal that did this stuff disappeared out of the blue, and was promptly replaced by someone else. Perhaps there's a better working environment now, perhaps not. The same management that screwed up everyone's pay for months at a time, though, is still there. My advice is to avoid. |
