Hard to see past a Fantastic Four hero and a Batman villain. Not enough actors in Hollywood? Or just some good agents? |

I think most of us comic fans just like to pretend the fantastic 4 didn't happen. I for one am glad they didn't make a sequel with the Silver Surfer and a cloud shaped Glacticus cause that would really really suck. |

Living CG still looks bad. I just can't see past the Chris Evans head on some skinny guys' body. Yeah, it looks good, but not good enough. The movie itself doesn't look that great either, too bright and shiny. I just don't think it looks that good.
Honestly Red Skull is by far the most interesting part of the whole series. If it was darker and rated R it might be worth a watch, but the trailer alone looks pretty "meh". Not bad, like the Green Lantern trailer, but just "meh". |

I think the "bright and shiny" look might be just so its in keeping with aesthetic look that Iron Man set? Trying to keep a similar feel for all their movies so once they make the Avengers flick nothing seems that out of place? That is my hypothesis at least |

It's possible, I just think that with films like the new Batman movie, it shows that the audience can actually accept contrast, film-wise. But, I can't say much about that because I felt that both Iron Man movies were kind of average, and again, too bright. We're supposed to be dealing with villains, pure evil and lunacy. It shouldn't have a greased-lens look to it, ever. |

I think it depends on the characters. Batman is a darker character who lives in a scummy city always under siege by depraved psychopaths. Superman lives in Metropolis and fights more campy villains (usually). They also have divergent philosophies on how to deal with crime ect. Same deal with the Marvel universe. Cap is more of campy guy who fights nazis for the American way so I think bright colors for him don't bother me to much. If Daredevil looked the same way I'd be pretty annoyed. (thank god they didn't make a Daredevil movie staring Ben Afleck. That would really really suck) so I think those movies should have different looks to them to reflect that. I was worried every comic movies was going to look like the Dark Knight after its success. Glad Marvel has avoided that trap. Though I don't want the movie to be TOO bright either. |

hah!!!
it's ridiculous that chris evans is captain america. i really don't see why they would do that, or even consider it. it's like putting hugh jackman as the star of the next thor or something.
anyway, as for the look of it, i don't mind it. i think they could've incorporated more of the rebooted Ultimates version of his costume. |

Well, in Ultimate Fantastic 4, Galactus was a big cloud of nanites that ate worlds. That was actually a really good adaptation. If they made THAT book into a movie, I would have been cool with it. |

it's like using an un-american dude to play superman!
we haven't even gotten one of ours in a bond movie yet and there's been a ton of those.

I'm a huge comic book/graphic novel fan. I know, without even seeing the film, that it's going to be a huge disappointment. They always are. |

It's not about their not being enough, but about there not being enough good ones. Tommy Lee is great and Chris is starting to grow on me, but yes it is a little weird to see them as new characters in the same world.
Hey, I know the Fantastic Four aren't, but isn't Captain America part of the Justice League? Or was that Captain Atom.
Can you tell I didn't read comics as a child? |

Captain America is a member of the Avengers. Justice League is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, ect.... I think Chris will be fine as Cap, guy has personality. It wasn't his fault the Fantastic Four sucked. Laurence Olivier couldn't have saved that shit |

I don't really have high hopes for this one. Captain America was always one of the corniest superheroes, and I can just picture Hollywood cheesin it up big time. |
