My E2 visa extension runs out on April 1st. I am currently signing a new contract with another school, before this E2 ends.

Will I need to get an FBI CBC from the US still, or am I exempt seeing as how I've been in Korea the entire time my first E2 was in place and nothing would have changed back home O_o

Anyone know what documents I will need?

If you have a letter of release, I don't think you need it....I didn't when I applied, but I had alot of time left on visa extension.....might be different for yours ends soon.

If the contract with my last school already ended do I still need a letter of release?

No.

As long as you have time remaining on your E2 (not on the 30 day touristic extension) you can transfer without the LOR.

If you transfer you won't need new documents until your NEXT change of status after this OR Jan. 2012 whichever comes first.

My school says a new law was just passed this year stating you need a new CBC after each E2?

Anyone ever heard of anything like this about an F4?!?!

If you try to get a F4, you need to prove your dad was a full Korean at your birth, but if you get the F4, you have to go back to US, declare double citizenship, come back, do the same here in Korea but that means at your age, you have to serve the military. If you don't want to serve the military, you have to declare permanent renunciation of Korean citizenship, then go back to US and start a visa process again. So, basically, the law changed where it is to your benefit to just get an E2; they are basically trying to get rid of the F4.

NOT true for renewals, extensions or transfers.

You have ALWAYS needed new documents for a new visa application.
