If you want to buy a good pair of headphones I would suggest Phiaton. Great sound quality, but a bit pricey. I have the PS300NC ones myself. They are absolutely amazing, I wouldn't take a plane trip without them. I have actually seen them for sale at the new Toy's R' Us in Cheongnyangni.

Why would anyone drop $300+ for a freakin pair of headphones?? Baffling

The same could be said about anything in life. Some people find audio quality and the like important. I paid more than $300 for my IEM's, and I don't regret it at all.

Actually I did buy mine in Korea. They were cheaper than the price listed on the website.

Not at all baffling.

Hearing your favorite music through high-end headphones is an amazing experience. The sound is almost 3-dimensional and can completely transport the listener.

Believe me....there's a world of difference between 25,000 won cheapies and $100 + headphones.

Def! I have a Sehn HD580 setup with Gilmore amp and a DAC. It cost me $500 five years ago, and I don't see myself listening to anything less.

Yongsan, fifth floor...I might have to give it a look. I'm not looking to upgrade, but I've been wanting to get something cheap for the computer at my school and portable devices.

That said, Koss KSC75s sound better than most $100 headphones (they beat the snot out of my Philips SHE9850s) and cost 25'000won. The build quality is a little cheap though. Just buy a backup pair or two and you're still saving money/quality.

I hate headphone listening--I think music has to move air to really work--but I use Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pros when I need cans. They are high impedence, so you need a good amp or headphone amp, but they are the most accurate, comfortable cans I've ever used, and they produce remarkably little ear fatigue even during longish listening sessions (2 hours or so).

Do you mind if I ask where you got them? I was looking to get a pair of MS400's, but they were literally 2x the price on gmarket as to what I could have got them for in the US.

That isn't the case with the other headphones I mentioned.

im not an audiophile, so my budget was around $200. I settled on the Shure 750DJs. Ive been really happy with them. i only listen for 40 minutes at a time, but any longer than that, they get really uncomfortable because the headband is flat when its on ur head, not round like you would think.

if you're going to buy a rapper's headphones, buy the 50 cent ones that just came out as they're wireless and pretty good quality.

that said, if you're spending that much money you should only care about quality so get yourself some grados or some other high end.

Grados are open heaphones. You can hear exterior noises. Sitting in a bus, they are a terrible choice of headphone.

Though, Grados HP-1000 are in my top 2 along with Stax Omega-2.

I current use some Sennheiser IEM (beaters), custom Livewires IEM (these block out exterior sounds a bit too much and I can't hear anything, so I use these for office, but not city) and Stax SR-Gamma (home listening).

As far as recommendations go, determine your budget then read head-fi.org

6th floor on the "Toy's R Us-side" of the Cheongnyangni department store. Digital Park, I believe it is called. Although, I was just there yesterday and they didn't have the noise-cancelling headphones in stock. They had all the other models though, including the earbuds.

Still can't understand you guys. Like when i'm listening to music, I pretty much enjoy the music without thinking of other stuff. I don't pay attention to the bus noses and what not. But who knows, it was only a few years ago why I wondered why so many Koreans needed to carry around a big DSLR and now I have one Very Happy

Thanks, I'd love to pick up some full-sized cans soon. Next time I'm back in the big city/civilization, I'll be sure to check this place out.

It's the exact same logic, just applied to music.

My free cellphone takes pictures, why would I have to drop at least $500 on a camera!?

Even though I couldn't care less about taking pictures, I definitely understand why someone would buy a DSLR or equivalent equipment.

Plus, premium audio equipment does more than simply block out outside noises. The aforementioned Grados don't even do that!
