My wife needs a skilled hairstylist to work on her doo. Any ladies out there have someone they can recommend? Thanks. |

I'm a guy, but I go to Michelle at the Green Turtle in Itaewon. Many of my female friends go to him too. He's very good. I think he went to school and worked in the west.
The Green Turtle is above the Coffee Bean. |

Toni and Guy-Haebacheon Station is the first location that comes' to mind ( right behind the exit with the movie theatre). |

depends on what she needs done.......
I have been going to hair & joy, expensive but worth it in my opinion because I have blondish hair. However Lucy, who most reccommend, has just started her own salon near Ehwa station I believe but I odnt know the name. I caught her on her last day at Hair & Joy.
Alot of people will also suggest Park Jun? I think it's called? |

my aunt took me today to a place that she had liked before. i got a 'magic volume' (straightening kind of perm) and a hair cut and i absolutely love what she did. it's called "bak (i'm pretty sure bak) ji young hair vogue" at the express bus terminal on the 2nd level. it's not a cheap place but she'll come out feeling really happy. make sure to ask for jessica. she speaks some english too. |

The Juno Hair franchises are nice too. It's not like Supercuts or anything. They're like high end shops, just as a chain. For some reason the people they hire tend to have experience with Western hair. I found a guy I liked years ago. He moves from one Juno to another every 6 months or so. I follow him everywhere, it's worth it. |

Agreed! I love the Juno franchise. I get my hair done there. I also went to a JJ ai Hair near Ewha station...big mistake! Do not go there. They didn't understand how to treat western hair and I ended up with a spotted hair dye and messy hair cut. Juno is my preference. |

Has anyone had blonde highlights done at Juno Hair? I'd like to try Juno out the next time I get my hair done but I'm a bit nervous! |

Lucy has her own place immediately upon exiting Sinchon station (1 station after Hongik-Hongdae). Nice place and very easy to find.
Most of Lucy's clients are foreigners, so she has an understanding of what Westerners want and mean in terms of highlights, coloring, styles, etc.
It's a little pricey compared to salons that cater to Koreans, but imo well worth it |

I'd recommend Juno Hair, but you need to find the right stylist, as it is, after all, a chain. Couple of years ago I had a great one, but she's not there anymore.
There's also a nice one in the Ewha area, but I can't remember the name. Quite small. If I remember the name I'll try to get details. |

I like Han at Juno Hair at Coex (next to On the Border). She's always done a good job with my hair, including a dark brown/red dye job which she redid with no arguments when the newly dyed and old dyed hair didn't quite match. I think she worked in the UK for a few years. Her English is good, without being brilliant. I trusted her to get my first pixie cut ever a month ago and I thought she did a good job, but I will request a few changed when I go back for a trim soon. Once I heard another Western girl chewing her out for the cut she had been given, but personally I've had good cuts from her, plus she is really friendly and cheerful. A cut and style at Juno Coex is 25,000won, so it is decent value for money too. |
