it was their fanatical belief in a religion called Communism

Communism is a political ideology, thier belief was atheism (which was carried out by some almost as a religion).

I read some of the autobiographies of those imprisoned in the USSR for being religious. They were harrased, tortured and imprisoned for believing in a God not for being capitalists.

Though, you believe what you will about communism being a religion.

Maybe they should, but they don't and won't. Based on our limited historical information about Jesus, we can safely conclude that a large percentage of modern American Christians would hate him and everything he stood for, and the greater part of the rest would range from disdain to neutral indifference. The feeling would probably be mutual.

This, unfortunately, is probably true. The vast majority of American Christians hold political and social beliefs that should be mutually exclusive with their professed belief in the teachings of Jesus. It's hypocrisy on a grand scale, and it's made even worse by their apparent inability to even acknowledge (or possibly comprehend) it.

I don't disagree, but I'm wondering if you can give a couple of specific examples so I can see where you're coming from.

Their lack of religiosity wasn't the reason they committed so much murder; it was their fanatical belief in a religion called Communism

I agree. The psychology of commitment to an ideology is the same, whether it is secular or religious.

Provide me with a list of these offenders. They will go to the authorities on these matters.

How do you know? Jesus just doesn't seem like that hateful of a guy.

Also the modern man was not around when jesus lived. Today Jesus would have been experienced with the qualities of the modern man and would have attenuated his teachings to fit them in. Also I'm not sure that the pagans were all that good of an example of humanity in terms of ethics. I mean seriously did the Jews in Jesus's time work slaves to an early death for profit? Did they have gladiatorial entertainment?

Who is talking about Jesus? I think the comments are about Christians. They are not necessarily the same thing.

Anyway, the TOS says to stay away from discussions about religion.
