I doubt he would have mentioned the part about dependent visa paperwork if his wife was Korean.... Or maybe he has two wives Razz

Just say "sorry honey, can't get you into Korea!"

You would think that places would think married guys are more stable then young possibly drunk guys, I dunno. I guess the housing savings makes them turn a blind eye to the pros of the situation.

The worker is likely more mature and reliable but the stay at home spouse with not much to do is more likely to get homesick and the worker would be less inclined to agree to afterschool programs.

So it's goes both ways

Colleges and University, it's a plus!

Our university hasn't hired a married person in years, and my Canadian co-worker, who was on the hiring committee this last time around, said the school didn't want to hire married people anymore. It's all about young, good-looking, MA-types who are well-mannered and give a great demo lesson. Strong Korean language experience is a big plus. I think a lot of it has to do with the last F-2 they hired. He was told he couldn't work outside jobs, but it wasn't stated in his contract. He took another job at another university PT, and the boss went ballistic. He waved his F-2 in her face and told her there wasn't anything they could do about it (other than that he wasn't renewed). Since that time, no F-2's, and every contract states we can't work outside jobs.

We did hire a gyopo this time around, interestingly. Glad they don't shut that door on good people.
